Greyhounds and their owners came together across Western Australia on Sunday 27 September for the Great Global Greyhound Walk, celebrating the breed and raising awareness about greyhound adoption.

This year, seven walks were hosted or sponsored by Greyhounds as Pets WA (GAP) across South Perth, Bunbury, Manjimup, Denmark, Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie, with strong support from local greyhound communities.

Western Australia recorded a standout result, with 187 sighthounds participating in the South Perth walk, making it the second-largest walk in Australia and the fourth largest globally.

Across the State, a further 89 greyhounds took part in six regional walks sponsored by GAP:

  • Bunbury: 27
  • Albany: 19
  • Geraldton: 16
  • Manjimup: 10
  • Kalgoorlie: 9
  • Denmark: 8
